GCCLP anchored a 2015 regional movement initiative which highlighted the impact of the global climate crisis on the Gulf South region.

El Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy (GCCLP) es un bufete de abogados y centro de justicia de interés público sin fines de lucro con la misión de promover cambios estructurales hacia la justicia climática y la equidad ecológica en las comunidades de color en la primera línea del cambio climático. GCCLP prevé sistemas sociales, económicos y políticos en todo el Golfo Sur que promuevan la equidad y la justicia para todas las personas.

El trabajo de GCCLP abarca los estados del sur del Golfo de Luisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida y Texas. Creemos que la base de soluciones genuinas, sistémicas y transformadoras que abordan las causas reales de la desigualdad en el Golfo Sur debe tener sus raíces en la justicia restaurativa y los derechos humanos. Nuestros programas, servicios y capacitaciones comienzan en la intersección de la justicia climática, los derechos de los migrantes, la soberanía de la tierra y las oportunidades económicas para las comunidades en la primera línea del cambio climático.

A través de servicios legales basados en derechos humanos, capacitación comunitaria, desarrollo de liderazgo local y promoción de base, GCCLP trabaja para crear equilibrios estructurales en alianza con las comunidades marginadas del Golfo Sur. El trabajo programático y las campañas comunitarias de GCCLP surgen de las comunidades costeras en la primera línea del cambio climático.
